Rhu to the Barb

This has nothing to do with dating and everything to do with my happiness, which i'm the boss of.

Sometimes you have to get back to the basics. Things you love; things that make you happy; things that when you do them you have no sense of time - you exist only in the present.

Ever since i was a child, baking has been one of these things for me. I don't even love sweet things. I like the process. I like the mixing, the tasting, the switching of ingredients to make the recipe my own. I also really like to watch other people enjoy eating the things i bake.

One of my readers has the most amazing blog that combines dating and eating: Love Hurts. Bacon Heals. I have been curious about rhubarb. Then i read the recipe on her blog for Strawberry Rhubarb muffins i couldn't stop thinking about them.

Finally, last night i made them and they are truly heavenly! Even my coworkers agree. I switched up the brown sugar with agave nectar and i used the plain yogurt instead of buttermilk as suggested. With my tiny, weird NYC oven I only needed to bake them for 14 minutes.

Thank you, Melissa!
