ha! no even close. in fact when the waitress asked him if he wanted to open a tab, he looked like a deer in headlights...he was speechless. then she said "well, i can just hold the card and you can pay cash later." he relented. when the check came, he put it in the middle of the table in silence; i knew how this was going to end. so i paid for my own drink (he didn't even offer) and added an extra buck for a tip. that must have emasculated him a bit, because then he threw down an extra buck too. very generous.
